On Saturday, Dec. 1, hundreds of Girl Scouts along with buses from the Metropolitian Transit District (MTS) and North County Transit District (NCTD) will be stationed at Albertsons and Vons supermarkets throughout the county collecting food drive donations for families in need this holiday season.

Please support this year’s Stuff the Bus Food Drive, and help the Girl Scouts stuff buses full of nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank this holiday season.

The food drive will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the following 15 locations will have MTS and North County Transit District buses on site:

Members of the community are asked to either donate a $5 Hunger Bag or pick up a few of the Food Bank’s Most Needed Food Items at your local Albertsons or Vons.

Once the buses are filled with donations, bus drivers will transport the food to the San Diego Food Bank’s warehouse in Miramar where the donations will be unloaded by dozens of volunteers to be sorted and then distributed to families in need.

The goal for this year’s food drive is to collect 30,000 pounds of nonperishable food items in one week! Are you up to the challenge San Diego?!
