Receiving Food Assistance at the North County Food Bank

The North County Food Bank offers individuals and families in need of food assistance access to use our onsite Client-Choice Food Pantry or our Drive-Thru Food Pantry.  The option is up to you on how you wish to receive food assistance at our North County Food Bank warehouse.

Client Choice Food Pantry

The pantry is set up similarly to a neighborhood grocery store. The pantry offers a variety of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, meats, dairy products, baked goods, nonperishable canned food items, diapers for infants & toddlers, and period supplies.

Pantry clients shop by appointment only and can self-select the foods that best meet their dietary needs and preferences.  Clients can stock up on enough food items to feed their families for two weeks.  Clients can make appointments every two weeks.

If this is your first time shopping, please arrive 15 minutes early to your scheduled appointment to complete the intake form.

  • No documentation needed
  • Bring your Food Bank ID card if you have one
  • Bring your reusable grocery bags
  • Service animals are welcome
  • Diapers and period supplies are available in the pantry

 

Drive-Thru Food Pantry

This food distribution is “contactless.” Attendees are asked to please remain in their vehicles throughout the whole process. Upon arrival, a volunteer will register each car verbally through the car window and provide further instructions. 

Volunteers will place food items directly in the trunk of the vehicle.  Food items distributed through our drive-thru food pantry are a fixed menu and often include a variety of nonperishable food items and fresh produce.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If this is your first time visiting the drive-thru, you will be asked to complete an intake form.

  • Diapers and period supplies are available upon request

IMPORTANT NOTICE: “CARPOOLING” HOUSEHOLDS MUST SHOW I.D.

If more than one household “carpools” in one vehicle to pick up food, each household in the car must provide their food bank issued card or an I.D. in the form of a drivers’ license, state-issued ID, or piece of mail with the current address on it to receive food for each client household.

Please keep in mind that the Super Pantry will be closed on the following federal holidays. Please plan accordingly should you need food assistance around these dates. ea
