The North County Food Bank, a chapter of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, held our inaugural Drive Out Hunger Golf Classic on July 23 at the Shadowridge Golf Club in Vista. The tournament’s title sponsor was the Spiva Foundation, and the presenting sponsor was Southwest Airlines.
The tournament saw 128 golfers hit the links in support of the Food Bank’s hunger-relief programs. The post-tournament dinner featured silent and live auctions, and the awards program was emceed by FOX 5’s Tabitha Lipkin.

Funds raised from the golf tournament will provide more than 700,000 meals to individuals and families in need in North County through our distribution center.
Next year’s Drive Out Hunger Golf Classic will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019, and the Food Bank is advising golfers to register early as the event will sell out once again.
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank assumed control of the North County Food Bank in 2015. The North County Food Bank operates from a 5,000-square-foot facility in San Marcos, and the nonprofit serves thousands of families in need every week in communities throughout the North County region.
