In an effort to help feed hope in communities throughout North County, more than 40 small businesses and civic organizations are teaming up to support the North County Food Bank during the City of Oceanside’s festive month-long O’Side Mardi Gras event and you can help!
Residents and visitors to the City of Oceanside are encouraged to help feed local families in need by dropping off donations of nonperishable food items at a variety of restaurants and business locations from Jan. 19 to Feb. 21.

Need ideas on what to donate?
Please donate the Food Bank’s “most needed” food items which include: canned meat and fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit, peanut butter, oatmeal and pasta.
We also accept donations of unopened packages of diapers and baby wipes.
O’Side Mardi Gras is a city celebration which pays homage to Mardi Gras and Carnival cultures by bringing a new lively spirit to the community leading up to Fat Tuesday on February 21. Downtown Oceanside businesses will be creating an experience within their establishments that reflect the Mardi Gras and Carnival traditions including plenty of food and drinks, jazz music, colorful decorations and “Big Easy” themed events. Check out the daily experiences showcasing the bright, energetic traditions that represents Mardi Gras.
