Support the School’s Out, Hunger’s Not – Summer Food Drive

Help the Food Bank feed children living in poverty this summer by supporting our summer food drive campaign.

During the summer months, children living in poverty stop receiving free meals at school and face hunger at home. From July 21 to August 20, PNC Bank, Sycuan, SDG&E, and CBS8 are supporting the School’s Out, Hunger’s Not – Summer Food Drive in partnership with Albertsons and Vons.

Here’s How You Can Help

Donate Nonperishable Foods in the Food Bank’s Red Food Drive Barrels at Albertsons & Vons

From now until August 20, the community can support our School’s Out, Hunger’s Not – Summer Food Drive at all Albertsons and Vons locations by donating nonperishable food items in our famous red food drive barrels located in the front of the stores.

Not sure what to donate? Here is a list of the Food Bank’s most needed food items, which include:

– canned meats

– canned fish

– canned vegetables

– canned fruits

– canned soups & stews

– peanut butter

– cereal

– oatmeal

Donate at $5 Hunger Bag at Checkout at Your Local Albertsons & Vons

Starting August 2, the community can support the School’s Out, Hunger’s Not – Summer Food Drive by visiting any of the 72 San Diego County Albertsons or Vons supermarket locations and donating a virtual pre-filled $5 Hunger Bag of groceries containing our most-needed food items.
